Ken decided to add the Agua Dulce siding and arrived early to get the switch on the trestle installed. Everybody loves a curved switch on a trestle!
A great crew arrived Saturday:
- Tie Master Paul cut another 500+ before needing to leave
- Bob built another stack of panels
- The guard rail goddesses, Sofia and Linda, installed more guard rails on the bridges.
- John O and Hank installed the guard rails on the road culvert bridge.
- John T and John O installed the second switch for Agua Dulce.
- Rob installed the ties for the second grade crossing.
- Ken and James anchored the stringers for the switch on the trestle.
- Stephen, Tim, and Chris set the Hitzfelder-Beck bridge.
- Lori cooked a big pot of beef stew for lunch and Linda provided the rolls and snickerdoodle cobbler.
Hank and Lil diverted from their winter trip to Florida to come to a couple of meets in Texas that sandwiched our workday. Hank treated us to a lunch jam session.
After lunch John T and Alex installed the panels for the new siding and everyone else filled in ties around the loop. Luke and Chris were shuttling ties where needed.
The following week, 19 tons of ballast were delivered.
