It was a full and productive workday out on the Austin & Texas Central Railroad, with plenty of hands making light work and good progress all around. Stephen kicked things off by repairing a water line break under steaming bay 9, getting everything back in working order. John O stayed busy installing new drain pipe for the kitchen shed after the old line proved too brittle, and he also set the post bases for the porch beam, locking in another important upgrade.
While the infrastructure work rolled on, Lori and Linda kept spirits high by putting together an awesome lunch that hit the spot for everyone. Ken, John T, Sophia, and Paul tackled the digging for the toilet tank hole, and Stephen later joined them to stack the blocks that will form the tank—solid teamwork from start to finish.
Out on the main line, Nick replaced ties around the entire Austin loop, with Abby and little Charlie closely supervising the operation. Once the job was done, Abby and Charlie put the new ties to the test by making several loops around the track, giving their official stamp of approval. With David on hand taking photos and everyone pitching in, it was one of those good, honest Texas workdays—plenty accomplished, plenty of laughs, and the railroad a little better than it was that morning.
