March Workday

Saturday brought a lively mix of hard work, family energy, and a whole lot of sawdust out at the A&TC.

Crew & Company

Attendees included Stephen, Lori, Ken, Linda, John O, John T, Sophia, Roman, and Jojo. Young Roman and Jojo spent the morning on their own little adventure — visiting work crews, exploring the grounds, and helping set the table for lunch like seasoned ranch hands.

Dispatchers Tower — Floor Framing

The day kicked off with Stephen, Ken, John O, John T, and Sophia working on the floor frame for the Dispatchers Tower. This building is a bit special — the first floor will house two restrooms, so the framing had to be precise and sturdy.

Lunch Break

Lori and Linda put together a taco bar that hit the spot, topped off with a pineapple coconut poke cake that didn’t last long. The whole crew gathered, staying dry while the sky tried — and mostly failed — to deliver the rain everyone’s been hoping for.

Weather Troubles

Mother Nature teased the railroad all day. Forecasts promised a good soaking, but only 0.05″ of scattered sprinkles showed up. Just enough to keep everyone working under the carport, but nowhere near enough to help the dry conditions.

Afternoon Push — First‑Floor Walls

After lunch, the crew stayed tucked under the carport and made the most of it. They framed all the first‑floor walls for the Tower, including the shower stall framing. By day’s end, every wall was stacked neatly on the trailer, ready for raising at the next workday.

Sunday Follow‑Up

On Sunday, Stephen returned and completed the floor framing, setting the stage for the next big push.
