June 7 – Ken arrived early in the week and finished off the initial ballasting and straightened the switch at the front gate. During the workday, we spent the day raising track through the ballast to ease a couple of grades. John O, Aaron, Shannon, and David worked in San Jacinto. Ken, John T, and Sofia worked in Agua Dulce. Tim and Chris were moving ballast continuously to both sites with #478. Stephen was installing a couple of key switch stands. With the heat, Linda and Shannon provided watermelon and grapes for a mid-morning hydration break. There was a lot of show-and-tell during lunch which was a huge chef salad bar organized by Linda while Lori was busy preparing for a handbell concert.
